Facility Security Officer (FSO)/Certified Special Security Officer (CSSO)

Part-time/Full-time
Job description

As an FSO, you ask yourself, “how can I improve our security procedures?” You have a masterful knowledge of industrial security and facility clearance requirements. The NISPOM is your BFF and memories of submitting perfectly polished SF 86’s gives you ultimate satisfaction. You are a fantastic teammate and an even better employee. OPSEC controls are second nature. Your self-inspections are probably frame-worthy. You view the oversight of clearance processing as a challenge, not as a wall. You’re bright, passionate, and driven. You can work well with others and work efficiently when accomplishing independent tasks.

The Fun Stuff
  • Oversee security clearance process for employees; process personnel, facility clearance information, periodic reinvestigations, manage the Defense Information Security System (DISS) database, Security Information Management System (SIMS), National Industrial Security System (NISS) and related files.
  • Verify security clearance status for potential new employees, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Develop and provide security-related briefings and training required by NISPOM and client.
  • Develop and provide foreign pre/post travel briefings in accordance with government requirements.
  • Track and notify personnel of periodic reinvestigations.
  • Prepare and report security relevant information as directed by the customer.
  • Manage/maintain the facility clearance documents (SF-328, DD 441 and DD441-1).
  • Ensure the proper preparation and review of draft/original/revised DD254s.
  • Lead self-inspections and DCSA assessments of programs.
  • Investigate security violations and prepare reports specifying preventive actions.
  • Prepare and submit required security reports to DCSA and/or customer officials.
  • Provide incident response to include initial and final reporting with recommendations towards corrective actions.
  • Manage facility security assessments and audits to ensure minimum security standards are implemented at all sites.
  • Perform access control audits for insider threat and DFAR/CUI compliance.
  • Conduct phone and in-person Security Pre-screens.
  • Complete and submit Visitor Requests and Visitor Authorization Letters via fax or through DISS.
  • Interface with company staff and government contacts with regard to personnel security duties, to include polygraph appointments, subject interviews, and indoctrinations
  • Manage/Maintain eCPRL and maintain security paperwork for all contracts to include but not limited to DD254s, eCPRLs and VRs.
The Necessities
  • You have a minimum of three (3) years Facility Security Officer (FSO)/Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) experience.
  • You are experienced with e-QIP, DISS, NISS and other Government security related web apps.
  • You have an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • You are comfortable with Microsoft Office applications and responsive to email and phone inquiries.
  • You have working knowledge of NISPOM, ICD, and DoD security requirements.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communications.
  • You are kind, friendly, and approachable.
