We are open to part-time and full-time applicants. As a Proposal/BD Manager, you thrive on healthy competition but crave the WINS. You have a masterful knowledge of the Shipley Proposal Process. Microsoft Office is your BFF and memories of perfectly compliant proposals are incredibly satisfying. You are a fantastic teammate and an even better employee. RFP, RFI, RFQ, RF-whatever–is second nature. Tight deadlines? Bring it on. Securing new business? You’re already on it. You’re bright, passionate, and driven. You can work well with others and work efficiently when accomplishing independent tasks.  

The Fun Stuff
  • Assist in the management of information on company cloud document repository for opportunity capture, business development, and proposal management. 
  • Identify, develop, and track opportunities for Federal Government contracts and Commercial Sales. 
  • Prepare proposal data calls, proposal kick-off presentations, color team reviews, and gate reviews. 
  • Develop and manage proposal coordination to ensure that internal processes for preparing quotes and responding to Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI) / Sources Sought, and Requests for Quotation (RFQ) are relevant, compliant, and compelling. 
  • Facilitate engagement and collaboration between and among writers, subject matter experts, and other contributors to understand and refine the technology/service ideas and concepts to be included in responses. 
  • Manage the company’s CRM to ensure all business development contacts are entered in a timely fashion and kept up to date. 
  • Assist in networking and sales activities in support of corporate business development goals for both federal and commercial clients. 
  • Attend industry briefings, meetings, and conferences to engage and learn more about future business opportunities. 
  • Identify and qualify potential teaming partners and business relationships that result in the development of winning proposals and the delivery of value to the customer. 
  • Develop knowledge on all current vehicles in order to lead efforts to grow presence on the vehicles. 
  • Develop and manage document templates for responses using company branding. 
The Necessities
  • You have a minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting IC or DoD programs with proposal management, business development and/or relevant (experience with GSA Schedules and IC customers is highly desired). 
  • You are an excellent writer with proposal experience. 
  • You are comfortable leading and delegating in an approachable manner that gets the job done. 
  • You are tech-savvy and can wrangle documents and project manage within multiple cloud repositories and web apps, ensuring versions and permissions are accurate at all times. 
  • You are a go-getter, innovative, and ambitious when it comes to strategizing and executing activities related to new business.
  • You are a “hands-on” professional with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • You are able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and prioritize work effectively. 
  • You have excellent verbal and written communications. 
  • You are kind, friendly, and approachable. 
  • Desired: Experience or ability to work with Mac. We are primarily an Apple based organization. 
  • Highly Desired: Experience supporting a creative services business or a background in creative services (e.g. graphic design, marketing, etc.). 
The Place to Be

Work location is fully remote. Ability to commute to Columbia, Maryland and the surrounding area on an as-needed basis is required.
