Software Engineer

Clearance Required | Full-Time | All Levels
Job description

As a software engineer, you ask yourself, “What’s the best way to make this work?” You have a masterful knowledge of IDEs. Stack Overflow, API Documentation, and Google are some of your BFFs, and thoughts of introducing bugs gives you nightmares. You are a fantastic teammate and an even better employee. Keyboard shortcuts are second nature. Your sense of big picture views and small detail focus are envious. You see impossible requests as a challenge, not as a wall. You’re bright, passionate, and driven. You can work well with others and work efficiently when accomplishing independent tasks.

The Fun Stuff
  • Define, document, and communicate front end development standards, best practices, code review processes, and build tools.

  • Partner with design and strategy/UX to ensure an optimal and consistent user experience.

  • Build visually accurate interfaces in collaboration with designers.

  • Immerse yourself in modern best practices, including code reviews, continuous integration and deployment, and iterative development.

  • Create efficient, optimized code for page speed and scalability.

  • Review, maintain, and improve user-facing code.

  • Assist back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting.

The Necessities
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (such as computer science), with at least one year of experience (more required depending on desired level).

  • You have experience developing user-friendly web apps using JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Vue, Angular and/or Ember.

  • You have the ability to build and test semantic, accessible, Section 508 compliant web applications.

  • You have a passion for creating innovative web applications.

  • You have an ability to integrate with REST APIs.

  • You are competent working/deploying projects with a source control tool.

  • You have familiarity with Git, JIRA, and other collaboration tools.

  • You are competent working/deploying projects with a source control tool.

  • You have experience working in an Agile environment.

  • You can navigate a Linux command prompt.

  • You are an excellent communicator, mentor, and team player.

  • You are competent working/deploying projects with a source control tool.

Bonus:

  • Experience with Federal government clients

  • Experience with Java, Maven, Sling Models, Servlets, Components and Services

  • Experience with graphing libraries (e.g. D3, Highcharts)
