The Challenge

When 11p was tasked to create a holistic brand and website that reflects BESPIN, we somewhat “geeked out.” However, BESPIN is not just a clever reference to the massive planet from Star Wars, it’s also an acronym for Business Enterprise Systems Product Innovation. This groundbreaking initiative allows Air Force developers to gain hands-on knowledge and collaborate with commercial developers. The office uses agile methodologies to produce exceptional applications and products that will improve mission support capabilities and the lives of Airmen.

A BRAND THAT BUILDS BONDS

When setting out to design the BESPIN logo, 11p took a page out of the office’s own handbook. As a nod to its Star Wars association, the logo wings are inspired by the seal of the Jedi Order. The wings merge with the head of an eagle to symbolize the military and Air Force collaboration. The final element of the logo is the incorporation of an abstract yin yang symbol as a reference to the light and dark forces of Star Wars.

A WEBSITE, FROM THE GROUND-UP

When it came time to create a website to represent BESPIN, 11p interviewed current participants to ensure design decisions would address the user’s needs. BESPIN housed over 15 applications that directly assisted members of the Air Force in their everyday duties, and it was important to showcase all of their capabilities.

The final site allows Airmen to stay informed of events and accomplishments within the BESPIN initiative and offers direct contact to application managers and leadership. Each application has a unique web page showcasing its key features. For the geographically dispersed team, the BESPIN website offers a communal place to share successes and feel connected to the universal mission.

MISSION-FOCUSED MARKETING

11p collaborated with BESPIN’s Communication and Marketing department and leadership to create an entire branding and marketing package to suit the various needs of BESPIN participants. Deliverables included in this package were: PowerPoint templates, social media graphics, slick sheets, advertisements, and more!
