Celebrating 5 Years: Devin Emery

Devin brings calm creativity and versatility to the Pepper team. In his five years at Eleven Peppers, he has become known for thoughtful collaboration, clean design work, and a steady presence his teammates can rely on. Whether he’s building in Illustrator, initiating a Slack huddle to help, or performing “Push It” with the commercial crew, Devin shows up with a grounded, positive energy that strengthens the whole company.

1. Best part of working at Eleven Peppers Studios?
Definitely the people. Everyone is super talented, supportive, and fun to work with, which makes it a great place to learn, grow, and enjoy what you do every day.

2. If you were a pepper, what type would you be and why?
A chipotle pepper. It pairs well with almost anything.

3. What is your favorite 11p event?
The 11th anniversary cruise. It was awesome to spend time with the team and celebrate such a big milestone together.

4. What is your favorite present ever received from 11p?
The Pepper Appreciation award from Julie T. It wasn’t necessary, but it was nice to be recognized.

5. What is your favorite 11p memory?
Performing “Push It” by Salt ‘N Peppa, along with the rest of the commercial team at the Holiday party.

6. Name a Pepper you can always lean on for support or advice:
Cheryl and Colette. Thanks for always answering my Slack huddles!

7. Name a Pepper whose work ethic inspires you:
William R. His dedication and positive attitude are contagious. He is always willing to jump in and help whenever needed, which I really admire.

Getting to know Devin a little better...

1. What’s your go-to order at Abby’s?
A chipotle chicken burrito. I love burritos and could eat one every day.

2. What music do you listen to the most while working?
Bon Iver’s self-titled album is my go-to when I need to focus. It’s a classic.

3. How did shifting from fine arts to graphic design shape your career?
I went to college expecting to study fine arts, but when I found out the program wasn’t offered, I chose graphic design. That unexpected change ended up shaping my career and becoming one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

4. What design tool could you not live without?
Adobe Illustrator. It’s my favorite design tool because it’s so versatile. Most of my projects start there.

5. What hobby helps you recharge outside of work?
Spending time with my family. Whether we’re out exploring, playing sports, or just hanging out together, it’s the best way for me to relax.

6. What’s your favorite place to travel with your family?
Anywhere with a beach. There’s something about being near the water that helps everyone slow down and relax.

7. What’s the best part of being a dad of two boys?
Watching them grow into their own personalities. They keep life interesting, make me laugh every day, and there’s never a dull moment.
