Dom brings curiosity, humor, and a genuine love of connection to the Pepper family. In his five years at Eleven Peppers, he has helped shape team culture through thoughtful communication, creative client work, and the trivia nights and Free Food Fundays he proudly hosts. Whether he is talking movies, swapping comic recommendations, or cheering on fellow Peppers, Dom shows up with enthusiasm and a spirit that makes the whole company better.

1. Best part of working at Eleven Peppers Studios?
The other Peppers! Kristen and Bryan have such a knack for finding not only very talented folks but very nice ones who are great to work with as well.

2. If you were a pepper, what type would you be and why?
A banana pepper, most agree they’re a great addition to any ensemble, but some also feel as though they’re perhaps a bit too much.

3. What is your favorite 11p event?
The Free Food Fundays that Dave and I host, it’s when we get to meet and learn about other Peppers, we might not get to interact with otherwise.

4. What is your favorite present ever received from 11p?
The root beers from across the country that Julie gave me for hosting trivia one year, it was such a fun journey to try them all.

5. What is your favorite 11p memory?
Building a comic book for a client that brought real security situations to hyperbolic life.

6. Name a Pepper you can always lean on for support or advice:
Kelsey! She’s very forthright in her thoughts but also very kind in relaying advice or being a listening ear.

7. Name a Pepper whose work ethic inspires you:
Kathryn Gruver, she has the ability to make an effective flow/plan and execute at a good pace that seems effortless even when I know it isn’t.

1. How did your love for movies begin and what first pulled you into film and TV?
My dad is a big movie buff and raised me on old films. We still talk about movies pretty often as long as they’re from before 1975.

2. What movie do you rewatch the most and why does it stay at the top of your list?
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, it has a particularly deft balance of pathos, humor, and excitement that no one has really captured that perfectly before or since in that realm.

3. How many movies have you watched this year so far? Any of note?
I’m on Letterboxd so I actually have an exact answer! Only counting new (to me) ones this year, 53. The biggest standout was Sentimental Value, which my wife and I watched mostly on a whim, and we ended up having a profound emotional experience.

4. How many times have you rewatched Star Wars across all the movies and series? Do you have a favorite or is that like picking a favorite child?
Fewer for the ones released as an adult but as a kid/teen? Too many to count, genuinely. My favorite is Revenge of the Sith, if you’re dialed into the Space Opera big emotions of it all then I think it’s the best one. Not so much if you enjoy “sets” or “acting”.

5. How many blog posts have you written about film and TV?
In the thousands if we’re talking just by review but in the mere hundreds otherwise. I used to do an Oscar blog in college where I watched all the Best Picture nominees starting in current day and going backward. I got to the mid-1940s by the time I got a job!

6. What is your most controversial movie opinion that always sparks debate?
Well I tipped my hand a bit but probably that I prefer the Star Wars prequels/Clone Wars era to the originals. The originals are objectively better movies by a wide margin, but I was a kid, an awkward teen, and an angsty young adult at almost exactly the same time as Anakin through the movies so it’s tough to compete with that 4D experience. I have taken part in zero Jedi purges; I want to be clear about that.

7. What is your favorite place to travel and is Vermont still your go‑to destination? Why?
I think San Diego might’ve taken the reins as my favorite these days, the Padres have the second-best ballpark in baseball (after the Os, of course) and the Zoo is the best in the biz.

8. Out of all your travels, where has the best food?
There is a restaurant attached to a gas station on the Kansas side of Kansas City that serves the Z Man sandwich and if you’re willing to stand in line for an hour then it’ll change your life.

9. What is the best trivia and worst category when you’re hosting or playing?
When I’m playing, comic books. It’s an excellent and organic reason to ramble about Batman to my team. When I’m hosting, any kind of weird history question because it’s engaging and easy to have fun with the audience about. Worst = Rivers. There are so many, how and why would one remember them all.

10. How did you get into comics and what keeps you coming back to them?
Batman the Animated Series and X-Men both aired starting when I was 4 years old, they captivated me then and led me to being continually captivated through life and still to this day. They’re visually interesting, find a way to tell big stories in very personal/psychological ways, and not to sound cheesy but they usually skew toward doing the right thing in an inspiring way. To this day, when faced with personal challenges on any level I try my best to react with understanding and patience the way that Superman would.

11. Who is your favorite obscure character and what makes them stand out to you?
Beta Ray Bill, he has most of the same powers as Thor and is worthy to wield his hammer, but he is…a horse man. I swear I don’t have a complex about being a horse person, but I do admire Bill’s devotion to heroism despite the lack of adoration that Thor possesses. Inside us all there are two horses: a selfish BoJack and a selfless Beta Ray Bill.

12. What are your favorite tools of the trade and why is email your preferred way to communicate?
Not sure if this counts but I love using the regular ol’ Thesaurus website or hard copy. There are so many beautiful words with similar but not quite the same meaning and finding the right synergy always gives such a good feeling of satisfaction. I like email because it gives you some time to think a bit before you choose how to impart info, it gives a level of curation for communication that isn’t replicated elsewhere and can be short- or long-form.
