Pepper Talk with Jordan Anderson
Just a little background before we get started, Jordan works as a content and media strategist supporting several government clients. She’s been with Eleven Peppers for 11 months (almost a year).
1. Do you have any nicknames?
Jordy mainly. Rarely do my friends call me Jordan or I‘m referred to as “the twin” since I’m an identical twin sister.
2. What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
Have to immediately feed and walk my dog! Any sudden movements or delayed waking and he’s ready to go.
3. What’s your favorite part about working as a content and media strategist?
Probably that every day is a new opportunity to think creatively. Whether it’s amplifying a success story, highlighting partnerships, or educating stakeholders through media and messaging, I get to help shape how we engage, inform, and inspire action. It’s also incredibly rewarding to work in a space where collaboration, and mission-driven storytelling truly matter.
4. How did you get started in this industry?
Right out of college, I worked for the National Security Agency as an Event & Marketing coordinator. That role really lit the spark for me to see my events and efforts come to life. I realized how much I enjoyed strategizing, branding, and helping people communicate creatively to attract top talent to the agency to fulfill mission-critical hiring objectives.
5. What are your favorite tools of the trade? What are the worst?
I mainly use Microsoft products for my position but have a love/hate relationship with Excel and SharePoint.
6. Do you have a set process when working on a new design process?
I always start with research and brain dumping.
7. Rapid-Fire Round:
Caffeine or no? YES, it’s a problem
Sweet or savory? Savory
Favorite TV series or movie? Too many!! Severance, Dead Poets Society, Shawshank Redemption
Favorite place to travel? I am going to Greece in August so probably there haha
Hobbies? Concert going, reading/writing/junk journaling, thrifting/shopping, volo, traveling/hanging/eating with friends, and listening to music (yes, that’s a hobby)
8. Okay, admission time… what’s your biggest procrastination habit when you’re stuck on a campaign strategy idea?
I deep clean my desk like it holds the answers. Sometimes the best ideas show up right after I stop forcing them and let my brain reset for a minute.
Thanks for meeting Jordan. Stay tuned for next month’s interview with another one of our Pepper’s.
